State bar councils are empowered by Advocates Act, 1961 to frame rules according to their convenience for enrolling advocates in council. He enrolled as an Advocate of the Nagpur High Court on 25 October 1956, of the Bombay High Court on 21 July 1958 and of the Supreme Court on 20 July 1959. He was appointed Assistant Government Pleader at Nagpur in August 1965 and Additional Government Pleader High Court at Bombay, Nagpur Bench, in October 1970.
