[2] The 2020 United States census reported Groveland's population was 540. [3] Groveland was created as a CDP prior to the 2010 census; previously it was part of Groveland-Big Oak Flat CDP.

The Dr. Elmer S. Bagnall Elementary School is also home to the Groveland Summer Recreation Program, a very popular non-profit summer day camp run by the Town of Groveland. Approximately 250 children between the ages of 6–15 attend this seven-week recreation camp. The program runs from the last week in June to the second week in August each year.
