The Dutch diaspora consists of the Dutch and their descendants living outside the Netherlands. [ 1 ] Emigration from the Netherlands has been occurring for since at least the 17th century, and may be traced back to the international presence of the Dutch Empire and its monopoly on mercantile shipping in many parts of the world.

Vietnamese people in the Netherlands (Dutch: Vietnamezen in Nederland; Vietnamese: Người Việt tại Hà Lan) form one of the smaller overseas Vietnamese communities of Europe. They consist largely of refugees from the former South Vietnam , Vietnamese born-citizens and their descendants (Dutch born-citizens of part or full Vietnamese origin).

The Minh Hương community descended from Vietnamese wedding youthful Chinese men in Cochinchina and Hoi An in Nguyễn lands.
