Clear Creek is a tributary of the South Platte River, approximately 66 miles (106 km) long, [3] in north central Colorado in the United States. The creek flows through Clear Creek Canyon in the Rocky Mountains directly west of Denver, descending through a long gorge to emerge at the town of Golden, finally ending in the Colorado Eastern Plains where it joins the South Platte.
Camping in the Clear Creek area is "at large" with two exceptions: No camping is allowed between the trail head at the junction with the North Kaibab Trail and Sumner Wash, and in the Clear Creek drainage from its mouth at the Colorado River upstream to the first major side-canyon entering from the east. Most creek beds along the trail are dry.

Acquisition of Genesee Park began in 1912; it was the first park established and, at 2,413 acres (9.7 km²), is still the largest. The last new parks were Red Rocks Park, purchased in 1927-28; O'Fallon Park and Newton Park, donated in 1939; and Winter Park, purchased in 1939. Daniels Park was also expanded at that time. [6]

Highway 119 begins at a signalized T intersection with U.S. Highway 6 in Clear Creek Canyon between Golden and Idaho Springs.It then heads north, alongside North Clear Creek, to the gambling town of Black Hawk, Colorado; this section of the road carries heavy traffic to the casinos of Black Hawk and Central City and experiences many accidents.
Farther to the east, I-70 departs the US 6 corridor, which continues to follow Clear Creek through a narrow, curving gorge. The Interstate, however, follows the corridor of US 40 out of the canyon. The highway crests a small mountain near Genesee Park to descend into Mount Vernon Canyon to exit the Rocky Mountains. [2]

SH 93 runs 18.8 miles (30.3 km), starting at its southern junction with US 6 and SH 58 at the entrance to Clear Creek Canyon in Golden. It runs north, just east of the mountains, ending at a junction with SH 119 in central Boulder.
