Kona is a moku or district on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi in the State of Hawaii, known for its Kona coffee and the Ironman World Championship Triathlon. [1] In the administration of Hawaiʻi County , the moku of Kona is divided into North Kona District ( Kona ‘Akau ) and South Kona District ( Kona Hema ).

Kailua-Kona is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Hawaii County, Hawaii, United States.It's most commonly referred to simply as Kona (a name it shares with the district to which it belongs), but also as Kona Town, and occasionally as Kailua (a name it shares with a community on the windward side of Oʻahu), thus its less frequent use.
Hawaii Route 190 leads south from Waimea and provides a shorter inland route to Kailua-Kona of 39 miles (63 km). According to the United States Census Bureau , the Waimea CDP has a total area of 39.3 square miles (101.9 km 2 ), of which 39.3 square miles (101.8 km 2 ) are land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km 2 ), or 0.10%, are water.
Papaikou is located on the east side of the island of Hawaii at (19.794022, -155.096531). [3] Hawaii Route 19 passes through the community, leading south 5 miles (8 km) to Hilo and northwest 37 miles (60 km) to Honokaa.
Maui County (Hawaiian: Kalana ʻo Maui), officially the County of Maui, is a county in the U.S. state of Hawaii. It consists of the islands of Maui, Lānaʻi, Molokaʻi (except for a portion of Molokaʻi that comprises Kalawao County), Kahoʻolawe, and Molokini. The latter two are uninhabited. The ancient district of Kula. Kula roughly extends from Haleakala Highway (Hawaii Route 37) in the north to Keokea in the south—a distance of about 16 miles (26 km) around 20°47'32" N, 156°19'37" W. [4] The largely rural area known as Upper Kula includes the region up-slope (southeast) from Lower Kula, the more densely populated area spread along the Kula Highway.
It lies along Hawaii Route 19 north of Hilo, the county seat of Hawaiʻi County. [1] Its elevation is about 300 feet above sea level (about 90 m) Because the community has borne multiple names, the Board on Geographic Names officially designated it "Papaaloa" in 1914 and 1954 before assigning the current name in 2001.
