Jackson-Madison County School System (JMCSS) or Jackson-Madison County School District is a school district headquartered in Jackson, Tennessee. It serves, in addition to the city, the rest of Madison County. [2] As of 2016 the enrollment was over 13,000. [3]

Madison Academic Magnet High School is a public high school in the Jackson Madison County School System located on Lambuth Boulevard and formerly located on Allen Avenue, in Jackson, Tennessee. The former building was erected in 1928 as Jackson High School and underwent extensive renovations during the summer of 2003. [ 2 ]

In 2016, Jackson-Madison County School Board of Education issued the "Vision 2020" plan. This plan was passed, as a result, Jackson Central-Merry High School was closed along with 4 other schools. In 2021, Jackson-Madison County Schools renovated and reopened the school as a middle and high school holding grades 6–12 in the fall.

It was created in 1956 by the consolidation of Pinson High School, Malesus High School, J.B. Young High School and Mercer High School. In 1992 they absorbed the students of West High School (Jackson, Tennessee) when it was abolished as part of the merger of the Jackson and Madison County school systems. [3]
