The following is a list of colleges and universities in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Kentucky also has two early entrance to college programs, for academically gifted high school juniors and seniors, that allows the students to take college credits while finishing high school.
Students must be over 14 years of age to enroll. Those under 18 must provide proof of promotion to 9th grade and be enrolled by a parent or guardian. To be eligible for the college preparatory program track, a student's incoming GPA must be a minimum of 2.00 on a 4.00-point scale, or an overall C grade.
To be eligible, students must attain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher in a rigorous curriculum (which in most high schools is the honors or college prep level) defined by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE), and attend college at an eligible institution in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Honors, AP or IB courses are usually taken during the 11th or 12th grade of high school, but may be taken as early as 9th grade. Some international schools offer international school leaving qualifications, to be studied for and awarded instead of or alongside of the high school diploma, Honors, Advanced Placement, or International Baccalaureate.

Most of the base housing is in Kentucky, and the high school was once located on the Kentucky side of the base. Like Fort Knox High School, it is administered by the Kentucky District of DoDEA America (the portion of the Department of Defense Education Activity that operates schools within the U.S.).
