Florewood State Park, also known as Florewood River Plantation State Park, is a public recreation area in the U.S. state of Mississippi, operated by the Leflore County Board of Supervisors. The state park is located off U.S. Highway 82 on the western edge of Greenwood. It is only open on Saturdays for fishing. [1]

Greenwood High School is the only public high school in Greenwood. As of 2014, the student body is 99% black. Amanda Elzy High School, outside of the Greenwood city limits, was formerly of the Leflore County district. It was recently taken over by the State of Mississippi for poor performance as a result of deficient leadership.

The state park surrounds 150-acre (61 ha) Shadow Lake at the western edge of Bienville National Forest, between Jackson and Meridian.
