The song was also recorded by American singer-songwriters Carly Simon and James Taylor, appearing on Simon's 1978 album, Boys in the Trees.Following the smash success of the album's first single "You Belong to Me", Devoted to You was released as the second single, and it also became a Top 40 hit.
The collection was released as a tie-in to Simon's memoir Boys in the Trees. [1] It contains newly remastered versions of songs spanning 23 years of her career, ranging from 1964's "Winkin', Blinkin', and Nod" (as The Simon Sisters), through 1987's "Two Hot Girls (On a Hot Summer Night)" from the album Coming Around Again.
"My Three Sons" are now grown-up with children of their own. From 1960 to 1972, Fred MacMurray starred as the widowed dad to three boys: Mike, Robbie and Chip.
Writing for AllMusic, Richie Unterberger rated the collection 4 1 ⁄ 2-stars-out-of-5, writing "For Carly Simon fans looking for something a little more extensive than a single-disc greatest-hits collection, but not something so large and expensive as her Clouds in My Coffee box set, Anthology is a good deal."
