In 1992, CASA launched the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARAs) to honor outstanding achievements in recorded a cappella music each year. In 1993, the Ambassador Program was created which allowed volunteers to manage and share information about a cappella events in their local communities through CASA.
The Pitchforks have a long history of studio recording. They have released over 15 albums so far, two of which, "Bring It Back" (2006) and "Disconcert" (2008), won the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award (CARA) for Best Male Collegiate Album.

The group's third release, Insanity Laughs (1999), was received as a "breakthrough album" for the unprecedented mixing of its drum-like vocal percussion. Several tracks met critical acclaim in the a cappella community up to a year before its release: the tracks "I'd Like To," "Boomerang," and "Sharp" were all selected for national a cappella compilation albums.
