My Early Life, also known in the US as A Roving Commission: My Early Life, is a 1930 book by Winston Churchill. It is an autobiography from his birth in 1874 to around 1902. The book closes with mention of his marriage in 1908, stating that he lived happily ever after.
In October 1930, after his return from a trip to North America, Churchill published his autobiography, My Early Life, which sold well and was translated into multiple languages. [243] In January 1931, Churchill resigned from the Conservative Shadow Cabinet because Baldwin supported the government's decision to grant Dominion Status to India. [244]
The Churchill family controls many of the documents and has authorized an 8-volume official biography. It was started by his son Randolph Churchill (1911–1968) and finished after his death by Martin Gilbert (1936–2015), a scholar at Oxford.
