Casa Batlló (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈkazə βəˈʎːo] ⓘ) is a building in the center of Barcelona, Spain. It was designed by Antoni Gaudí, and is considered one of his masterpieces.
After a wait of more than 140 years, five central towers of Barcelona’s famous Sagrada Familia basilica are at last finished.
Gaudí was born on 25 June 1852 in Riudoms or Reus [10] to coppersmith Francesc Gaudí i Serra (1813–1906) [11] and Antònia Cornet i Bertran (1819–1876). He was the youngest of five children, and far outlived the other two who survived to adulthood: Rosa (1844–1879) and Francesc (1851–1876).
As an architecture student at the Escola Tècnica Superior d'Arquitectura, in Barcelona, from 1873 to 1877, Gaudí achieved only mediocre grades, but he did well in his "trial drawings and projects." [ 1 ] After five years of work and schooling, Gaudi qualified as an architect in 1878.
He is also author of a monument commemorating the 150th anniversary of the signature Louis Vuitton in Barbera del Valles (2004) and Memorial Angel Lace (2003) in Arenys de Munt and sculpture of Josemaria Escriva de Balaguer (2004) in the Montalegre church for Barcelona.
