Wisbech St Mary is a village in the Fenland District of Cambridgeshire, England. It is 2 miles (3 km) west of the town of Wisbech. It lies between two roads, the B1169 and the A47. The population of the civil parish (including Guyhirn and Thorney Toll) at the 2011 Census was 3,556. [1]
In 1985, the Alberta Ministry of Culture declared St. Mary and St. George a historic resource on the grounds that it reflected the 14th century English Gothic revival in Canada and was the only remaining ecclesiastic structure designed by A.M. Calderon, one of the early architects to work in Edmonton.

Formerly within the parish of Wisbech St Mary, Guyhirn (with Rings End) was made a parish in its own right in 1870. Its first vicar was Rev. W. A. Carpenter.. The parish church of St Mary Magdalene was built in 1878. It was designed by architect George Gilbert Scott for his older brother, Canon John Scott of Wisbech.
