Ogden Point is a deep water port facility located in the southwestern corner of the city of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.Its advantageous geographic location on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, by the Strait of Juan de Fuca, close to major population centres Vancouver and Seattle, has made it an attractive cruise ship destination.
Elsay Lake is a lake 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) North East of the City of North Vancouver, located near the Centre of Mount Seymour Provincial Park in the District of North Vancouver, British Columbia. Originally named Mystery Lake and still known to some as such. [1] It has subsequently been renamed Lake Elsay, after nearby Elsay Creek.
It has 44 drive-in campsites and 16 walk-in sites. 80% of the campsite may be reserved through Discover Camping, April through September. The park is maintained and operated by Sea to Sky Parks, based at Mount Seymour in North Vancouver, BC. On July 29, 2008, a large rockslide took place at the Porteau Bluffs, just north of Porteau Cove.
Trout Lake is a popular swimming location and nesting ground to many species of bird. In the late 1800s, Trout Lake was a peat bog that supplied water to Hastings Mill. Trout lake was formerly stocked with rainbow trout and cutthroat trout. [2] Adjacent to the lake is a community centre, playground, ice rink, and a summer farmers' market.
Its southern end, at the resort community of Harrison Hot Springs, is c. 95 km east of downtown Vancouver. East of the lake are the Lillooet Ranges while to the west are the Douglas Ranges. The lake is the last of a series of large north–south glacial valleys tributary to the Fraser along its north bank east of Vancouver, British Columbia.
