New Albany High School, a public school, started WNAS-FM in 1949, which is the nation's oldest continuously operating high school radio station. In the late 1960s, Slate Run Elementary School started WSRS, a non-licensed student-produced closed-circuit television service for its classrooms, one of the nation's first in an elementary school.
Licensed to New Albany, Indiana, it serves the Louisville metropolitan area. It is owned by New Albany Broadcasting Co., Inc. and operated by Pure Media Ministries, Inc. By day, WLRS is powered at 1,500 watts. Because it's on a clear channel frequency, it reduces power to 233 watts at night, to avoid interference with other stations on 1570 AM.

New Albany and Salem Railroad Station, also known as the Louisville and Nashville (Monon) Railroad Station, was a historic train station located at Gosport, Owen County, Indiana. It was built between 1854 and 1858 by the New Albany and Salem Railroad. It was a one-story, simple brick structure measuring 58 feet wide by 123 feet long.
