I have a .reg file that needs to be merged with the target machines. Deployment tool is ITCM. I wrote a script using AutoIt for the same and it failed.
My own approach in cases like this is to use a comparison tool such as Picture Taker. Using such a tool, you would compare an installation using the vendor's original setup.exe with a second installation using just the MSI (with all the ISSCRIPT custom actions disabled / removed) - make sure a clean test machine is used for each installation.[:)]
Try a 'gap capture' using your favourite lightweight snapshot tool (Picture Taker, InControl, InstallRite et al) by installing your MSI and then the vendor setup over the top. That should identifiy anything missing in your MSI that you can then incorporate into your package. Hope that helps, Dunnpy

1. Monitoring Files (Picture Taker) shows, that the Notes.INI is modified. 2. Just replacing the Notes.ini with a configured one doesn’t work. 3. Copying the Data\Wokspace folder and a Data\NOTES.INI files from a configured lotus Notes to freshly installed (Not configured) Lotus Notes Data Directory, fixes the issue.
