This is a list of characters featured in the Baahubali franchise which consists of two films, a novel, a comic and two television series. They are all characters which have appeared in The Beginning (2015), The Conclusion (2017), The Lost Legends (2017), [1] Crown of Blood (2024), [2] and the novels The Rise of Sivagami (2017), Chaturanga (2020) and Queen of Mahishmathi (2020).
Bhallaladeva is a fictional character and recurring antagonist of the Baahubali franchise, [1] and the main antagonist of the movie series. The character was created by V. Vijayendra Prasad and S. S. Rajamouli [2] and was portrayed by Rana Daggubati in the films Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion, which were directed by Rajamouli. [2]
Kattappa, upon seeing Siva's face, falls into submission and proclaims him 'Baahubali'. Kattappa then reveals to Siva that he is Mahendra Baahubali, son of Amarendra Baahubali, the famous warrior prince of Mahishmati, and the woman who saved him was Queen Sivagami, his grandmother. Amarendra Baahubali was the orphan son of King Vikramadeva.
Sivagami eventually wins the battle. Kattappa chases after Shivappa and they fight ferociously until Kattappa swirls his ribbon sword around Shivappa's neck and pulls it which decapitates Shivappa. The body of Shivappa falls down the volcano of Gauriparvat. Kattappa laments the death of his beloved brother.
