The Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL) is a junior ice hockey league which operates in the Lower Mainland and the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia.Although the PJHL has included American teams in the past, the league's fifteen franchises all currently reside in the districts of Metro Vancouver, Fraser Valley, and the Sunshine Coast.
The Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL) is a Canadian junior ice hockey league spanning parts of Southern Ontario. The PJHL is the third tier of the Ontario Hockey Association and is sanctioned by the Ontario Hockey Federation and Hockey Canada. The league was formed in 2016 with the merging of eight Junior C leagues.
Starting that season, the PJHL champion would compete with the BCJHL champion in the BC Junior "A" Championship, the Mowat Cup, with the winner moving on to what was the precursor to the Doyle Cup. The PJHL's Nor'Wes Caps won the 1976 Mowat Cup, while the PJHL's Richmond Sockeyes won the 1977 and 1979 Mowat Cups.
PJHL can refer to any of the following ice hockey leagues in Canada: Provincial Junior Hockey League, a league in Ontario; Pacific Junior Hockey League, a league in British Columbia. Prairie Junior Hockey League, a league in Saskatchewan. Prince Edward Island Junior C Hockey League, a league in Prince Edward Island.
The team will play its home games in the Gibsons & Area Community Centre.The building opened in 2008 and is owned by the Sunshine Coast Regional District. The original Chilliwack Jets (1965–71) team was one of the original six teams in the Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL), which was then called the West Coast Junior Hockey League.
