Stillwater is a village in the northern end of Auckland in the North Island of New Zealand. [3] Situated on the Weiti River immediately south of the Whangaparaoa Peninsula in the Rodney District, it is part of the area known as the Hibiscus Coast. There is also a Stillwater, West Coast in the South Island.
In November 2009 the saw mill at Stillwater was completely destroyed in a fire. [8] The 2009 West Coast Industry Review by Crown Forestry recommended reducing 'off-Coast' log sales and local processing of the West Coast's wood harvest; it identified Stillwater as the best location for a saw mill because of the ease and cost of cartage. Shakespear Regional Park is a nature park in the Auckland Region of New Zealand. It is located at the tip of the Whangaparaoa Peninsula , and is named after the Shakespear family who first came on to the land when Sir Robert Hamilton purchased 1392 acres on behalf of his grandson, Robert Shakespear, from Ranulph Dacre in 1883.
The Weiti River is an estuarine river to the north of Auckland in the North Island of New Zealand.It rises as the Weiti Stream in the low hills approximately 7 kilometres (4 mi) west of Silverdale and emerges into the Hauraki Gulf immediately south of the Whangaparaoa Peninsula.
