I've heard good things about AIM Surplus. I'm thinking of buying some ammo from them, however I'd like to know one thing. How are their shipping and handling charges for their products? I've been been taken to the bank a few times and I try to do some research prior to making any on line...

I've been cruising around some of my ammo sources and am getting a cold chill down my spine. Seems like my favourite sources (AIM surplus for one, Makarov.com) are out of the Silver Bear (and indeed - even the Brown Near) ammo. Looks like there seems to be lots of Fiocchi JHP (or shudder -...
THR Upgrade and Maintenance This Morning. The upgrade is going cleanly, and most of the hard work is done..
AIM Surplus is currently having a "walk in" sale this week, showroom only, of CCI standard velocity at $31.90 per brick of 500. You can also buy individual boxes at that price. Good deal if you're close to them in the Cincy area. The sale also includes Wolf Gold brass/copper .223 ammo, $5.49...

The surplus bolt tools run about $40 and clean USGI mags run about the same. I found a supply of those in Austria a few years ago and bought a bunch for about $20 each. Those are long gone.
I ordered a Garand yesterday from the CMP..My First.. I know nothing of them yet. What grain bullet shoots best?
I'm seeing a decent amount of Mausers around here lately from $200-$350. They're getting hard to ignore. What's skinny on Mausers?
What's the current "best deal" for decent, milspec (either actual military, or the functional equivalent) 7.62 NATO ammo? Bonus points awarded if it is reloadable. I've been looking around, and came up with the .308 page at Ammoman.com ... Questions: 1. Is the argentine 7.62 any good...
The PTR, as delivered, could use a metal trigger housing and a beavertail (bipod-style) forend. These are available as surplus. The bayonet is unique in being mounted above the barrel. It needs a special adapter that replaces the plug at the end of the charging handle tube. All in all, the PTR-91 is not one of my favorite guns.
