Sumitranandan Pant (20 May 1900 – 28 December 1977) [1] was an Indian poet. He was one of the most celebrated 20th century poets of the Hindi language and was known for romanticism in his poems which were inspired by nature, people and beauty within.
While the poem is often attributed to Kalidasa, modern scholars disagree with this traditional attribution. According to Siegfried Lienhard "the Ṛtusaṃhāra is almost certainly the work of some poet whose name has not come down to us and was probably written sometime between Asvaghosa (about 100 A.D.) and Kalidasa (4th to 5th century)."
Maithili Sharan Gupt [1] (3 August 1886 – 12 December 1964 [2]) was one of the most important modern Hindi poets. Gajanan Madhav Muktibodh (13 November 1917 – 11 September 1964) [1] was one of the most prominent Hindi poets, essayists, literary and political critics, and fiction writers of the 20th century. [2] Muktibodh is widely regarded as a pioneer of modern Hindi poetry in India along with Surya Kant Tripathi 'Nirala'.
