Whatever else you add depends on your style. I like the FallUI series of mods, ECO for modifying weapons and armor, and the BH SIG MCX rifle mod with the Side Aim, Tactical Reload, and Penetration Framework mods. There are lots of quest mods (filter the Nexus site by category), which you should run from a clean save.
- Fallout 4 Script Extender Absolutely NECESSARY, make sure you grab the Fallout VR version and install it properly and launch the game from fo4se_loader - Fallout 4 Version check patcher Fixes a lot of problems with newer mods (Not all mods but most) and without the need to go into fo4edit, and works with Fallout VR
Everything Fallout modding, from Fallout 1 to Fallout 4 and everything in between. Members Online [FO4] Been working on a few OutfitStudio armor mashups this past week, this is my favorite: the "Vault Desperado"

It follows the pattern of Fallout games. After Fallout 1 and 2 we got... Fallout Tactics. Same core mechanics, dramatically improved combat, no role playing elements. Then 3, New Vegas, and... 4; same core mechanics as previous two, dramatically improved combat, no role playing elements. As an RPG, Fallout 4 is a C- at best.
Small mods I couldn't live without are: Quieter Settlements, Everyone's Best Friend (Dogmeat doesn't take up a Companion slot), and possibly one of the Minutemen mods that makes it so you only have one settlement quest at time instead of three. (oh and, if nothing else, the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch!
Chaotic Sun is the most original mod that has been released for the Fallout franchise, not only for Fallout 4, IMHO. As it says in its page it is a combat and exploration mod. There is no strong, overarching storyline as in the Fusion City Rising series, with interaction with the main vanilla quests.
So, I've decided to try Fallout 4 again. What would you recommend for mods? Specially to make the Commonwealth more Commonwealth-y?
