Camp Kupugani serves children age 7 to 15. It offers a 2-week girls only session, and 2- and 4-week "blended" sessions for all genders. The camp also offers a mother-daughter weekend and a parent-child weekend experience. It was founded as a girls' camp; sessions for boys were added in 2009, and the blended session piloted in 2016. During the Second Bulgarian Empire and more precisely the rule of Ivan Alexander (1331–1371), Kilifarevo was a centre of literary activity and the site of Theodosius of Tarnovo's school and monastery, founded in 1350, which actively promoted the spiritual practice of hesychasm.
The traditional women's Tarnovo costume consisted of: a hairpiece – mostly white (in some cases with red patterns), a white shirt with red or red-green patterns around the sleeves, a black dress, a black apron with several alternating rows of patterns: green, yellow, red, slippers – silver or gilded, pendants.
Veliko Tarnovo (Bulgarian: Велико Търново, romanized: Veliko Tarnovo, pronounced [vɛˈliko ˈtɤrnovo]; "Great Tarnovo") is a city in north central Bulgaria and the administrative centre of Veliko Tarnovo Province. It is the historical and cultural capital of Bulgaria.
Elena (Bulgarian: Елена) is a Bulgarian town in the central Stara Planina mountain in Veliko Tarnovo Province, located 42 km (26 miles) southeast of Veliko Tarnovo. It is the administrative centre of the homonymous Elena Municipality. The area is also a mountain resort, known for the typical local cuisine.
The village is also mentioned by the Roman Catholic bishop of Sofia Petar Bogdan Bakshev, who visited Tarnovo in 1640. He remarked there was a village up in the mountains, from where the whole of Tarnovo could be seen, that had about 1,000 houses. Another Roman Catholic bishop, Anton Stefanov, refers to Arbanasi in 1685.
In 1935 the village became a district of Veliko Tarnovo. References This page was last edited on 2 November 2024, at 01:49 (UTC). Text is available under the Creative ...
