Shitala Pandey, better known as Sameer Anjaan or Sameer, is an Indian lyricist, known for writing songs predominantly for Bollywood films. He is a Guinness World Record holder for writing the most songs. [1] His father is the Hindi lyricist, Lalji "Anjaan" Pandey. He has won three Filmfare Awards. [2]

Lalji Pandey (28 October 1930 – 3 September 1997), [1] [2] better known by the pen name of Anjaan, was an Indian lyricist known for his work in Hindi language films.Having penned over 1,500 songs for more than 300 films, he is remembered for tracks from his frequent collaborations with composers Kalyanji–Anandji, Laxmikant-Pyarelal, R. D. Burman and Bappi Lahiri.

The lyricist who won the most Rajat Kamal awards is Vairamuthu with seven wins, [2] [3] followed by Javed Akhtar with five wins. Four lyricists: Gulzar (Hindi), Swanand Kirkire (Hindi), Prasoon Joshi (Hindi) and Na. Muthukumar (Tamil) have won the award on two occasions.
Irshad Kamil and Gulzar were the most successful lyricist of 2010s with three wins each. As of 2022, only five women have ever been nominated for the award. First ever female lyricist to be nominated for the award was Preeti Sagar for the song "Mero Gaam Katha Parey" from the film Manthan in 1978.
