Mizoram is a landlocked state in North East India whose southern part shares 722 [6] kilometres long international borders with Myanmar and Bangladesh, and northern part share domestic borders with Manipur, Assam and Tripura. It is the fifth smallest state of India with 21,087 km 2 (8,142 sq mi).

Champhai district is one of the eleven districts of Mizoram state in India. The district is bounded on the north by Churachandpur district of Manipur state, on the west by Saitual and Serchhip districts, and on the south and east by Myanmar. The district occupies an area of 3,185.83 km 2 (1,230.06 sq mi).
The district has a population density of 113 inhabitants per square kilometre (290/sq mi). Its population growth rate over the decade 2001-2011 was 24.07%. Aizawl has a sex ratio of 1009 females for every 1000 males, and a literacy rate of 98.5%. [2]
