In 1734, the Pericue, the Uchiti, and some of the other Guaycura bands revolted in southern Baja California in an attempt to expel the Jesuits from their territory. The Indians killed Jesuits at two of the four southern missions, several Spanish soldiers, and, in January 1735, 13 sailors who had come ashore from a merchant vessel.
Harry is the elder brother of Mary and Nathaniel Crosby; the younger half-brother of Gary, Dennis, Phillip and Lindsay Crosby; the half-uncle of Denise Crosby; and the nephew of Bob Crosby and Larry Crosby. Crosby has been in investment banking since 1985 and is a partner at Cranemere.
His grandson, José Raimundo Carrillo, was born in Loreto, Baja California in 1749 and came to Alta California with the Portolà expedition in 1769. He was a member of the company that founded Presidio Santa Barbara in 1782, and served as Commandante of Presidio Santa Barbara from 1802 to 1807, and of Presidio of San Diego from 1807 to 1809. [5]
