The newspaper began circulating in Fairfield County, Connecticut, in 1995, and in 2002 moved its news operation to Stamford. At that time, circulation was at 10,000 copies. By 1997, the paper increased its frequency, becoming a weekly, and in 2001 it launched its Web site. [1]

The Fairfield Minuteman was a local newspaper of Fairfield, Connecticut. Combined with the Westport Minuteman, both of which were owned by the Journal Register Company, the Minuteman had a combined readership of roughly 30,000. In 2017, Hearst purchased the Minuteman from JRC successor Digital First Media.
The Fairfield Times was first published by Fred Schoensigel on July 4, 1916. [2] He sold it to W. F. Berger in 1939. [3] The Fairfield Times merged in 1992 with the Sun Valley Sun, which was founded in 1982. [4] In 1996, Jim Anderson sold the Fairfield Sun Times to Mike Manuel. [5] The paper was acquired by Ron and Cindy Dauwalder in 2000. [6]
