The Philippine Christian University (PCU) is a private, Protestant, and coeducational basic and higher education institution located in Ermita, Manila, Philippines. It was founded in 1946 through the initiatives of the laymen of the Evangelical Association of the Philippines .
On August 17, 1996, the 2nd season began with PCU as host. [3] Aside from hosting, PCU had also joined the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) while also playing in the National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA). The MLQU Stallions and the CCP Bobcats faced each other that season for the men's basketball championship. [4]

In 2007, Philippine Christian University (PCU) were found to have ineligible players in its juniors basketball team. The NCAA suspended PCU for the 2007–08 season in all events. [ 11 ] By 2008, the NCAA allowed PCU to return for the 2008–09 season , then take an indefinite leave of absence thereafter.
