In the 2024 remaster Sonic X Shadow Generations, his Metal Overlord form returns as a boss that Shadow battles. Metal Sonic returns as a boss character in Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric and Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal. He appears in the Sonic Boom episode, "It Wasn't Me, It Was the One-Armed Hedgehog".
