With a cold air intake and 4inch exhaust: Summer diesel - I get about 14 to 15mpg in the city. On the highway - I've gotten 19mpg, but not using any A/C or Cruise. I found that if I used the cruise - I lost 2mpg on the highway. 2003 EX, 7.3L 4inch Lift, Nitto Trail Grappler's, KMC XD Spy's.

Looking for advice/recommendations for improving the ride on my Ford Excursion. Just bought a 2002 Excursion with 120k miles that is lifted/blocked up about 6". Rides like crap – very stiff with a slight bit of instability on highway even when not towing. Sits way too high - hard to get in/out - especially for wife.

I'm looking at a two from down south with no rust and between 250k and 350k miles on the original motors. The two I'm looking at is one with 250k and original owner and 348k and the 2nd owner.

An excursion with a 7.3 will tow just about anything you want it to. It'll jerk your race trailer with ease. I believe the Ex's have 3/4 ton suspension gear. Worst case scenario you would want a pair of air helper or leveling bags. With a strong tranny the 7.3 will tow it like it's not even there.

The F250 has gotten close to 18mpg a few times but again lots of 55-60mph few stops. The dually even with an economy tune is hard pressed to achieve 14 mpg. In most cases when you chip or tune a diesel it will add 2-4 mpg on the overhead which rarely equals 2-4 mpg on paper.
