So when I try to record gameplay with the built in screen recorder (In Windows 10). The audio doesn't work! The video is totally fine, but my external microphone, and the computer audio do not get recorded.

In Settings > Gaming > Captures, 'Record audio when I record a game' is still enabled, and in the Game bar, audio capturing is set to all. I recently got a new headset (specifically Razer Blackshark V2, using with the sound card that comes with it), and only after this I noticed that audio isn't being recorded anymore.
Yes, the current version of the tool does not support Sound. But Microsoft is actively considering it. Please ensure you upvote the relevant item in the Feedback hub to let Microsoft know (Win+F). I currently use Fluent screen recorder, a lightweight app from MIcrosoft Store for screen recording.
