The race will take runners through all five boroughs of New York City, starting on the Verrazzano–Narrows Bridge on Staten Island and passing through Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and the Bronx, before finishing in Central Park.
The TCS New York City Marathon course is closed to vehicular traffic during the race; please see a schedule of bridge and street closures and re-openings below. Sweep buses follow the marathon route at a 7-hour marathon pace (about 16 minutes/mile) after the final wave start at 11:30 a.m.
