In March 2025 Babies. Breast pump- spectra s1 vs SG. September 18, 2024 | by hmmjackson. This is my 3rd baby and I’ve exclusively pumped the last 2 times with the spectra s1. For this baby im debating getting a new S1 (my old one’s battery is going out) or getting the Synergy Gold or Synergy Gold Portable.

For exclusively pumping you’ll want a primary pump like spectra vs wearable. Wearable pumped are great on the go after you’ve established milk supply (12ish weeks) but not for every pumping session because they’re less efficient. Like. lilybean23. I have used the spectra pump. It’s a really good breast pump.
Feb 16, 2021 at 4:05 PM. I have had all 3. Lansinoh, Madela Pump in style & Spectra S2. The Spectra by far has been my fav. Its actually the 1st one I got free through insurance with my 1st and its still my favorite. Ill be ordering another with this baby.
Apr 29, 2022 at 6:40 AM. I have been using the spectra as my primary and got the Elvie stride a few weeks ago. I absolutely love it. There are some contingencies here, but overall I’m super pleased to have the flexibility it provides. The spectra is still my primary, and I use it 8-10x a day.
Jul 5, 2023 at 1:56 PM. Two totally different pumps. Spectra S1 is a primary pump where are zomee hands free would be a secondary pump. But even then, you should only use maybe once or twice a day IF you’re away from baby and you’re mainly breastfeeding. Like all things with a small rechargeable battery, they die out over time.
Pregnancy Week 42. Insurance will fully cover the Z2, the spectra 1 it will partially cover, I’ll have to pay $70 out of pocket. S2 is covered fully.Anyone have experience with either of these pumps?I had Medela by my first and the strength was great…. I remember I had so much milk even after pumping for 20 minutes my breasts...
Pregnancy Week 41. Pregnancy Week 42. I was going to go with the Spectra with the battery for my insurance pump and pay the $35 upgrade but now I see I can get the spectra synergy gold battery pump for $70 with insurance. It looks like the upside would be dual motors instead of just a single motor.
I use the Philips AVENT bottles with the pump and they work really well. Also, when looking for replacement parts (like the duckbill valve, etc) that need to be replaced every few months, I use Maymom brand off of amazon. They're cheaper and just as effective as the actual spectra brand ones.
