Early action vs. Rolling Admission. Parents Forum. Nightingale July 19, 2007, 5:15pm 1. <p>Some of the schools my D is interested in have EA, some don’t. Some have “rolling admissions.”. Is rolling admission the same as EA in that you can submit your application early on in your senior year oh HS. I don’t understand the difference.

The timelines for Penn State are. EA - Decision by Dec 24. Priority - Decision by Jan 31. Rolling- After that. There is no scenario at PSU where you are guaranteed a decision by 11/1 and in fact, it’s very very unlikely to get a decision by then since that is the EA deadline for applications.

BrawnyAcolyte. •. Earlier is generally better for schools that have rolling admissions. At ASU this is less important for general admission - if you meet their listed admissions requirements you should get in. But there may be things like scholarships, the honors program, or specific majors where the spots get filled in the order they receive ...

I assume that Early Action applies to the Nov 1 deadline for consideration for merit scholarships. Their own website lists only Early Action and Regular Decision as their two admissions options.

  7. Does Early Decision Always Improve Chances of Acceptance

I know that for a lot of schools, the early decision acceptance is higher than the regular decision rate. However, the early decision applicant pool may be more competitive than the regular decision. So is it, in some cases, more likely that you get accepted regular decision than early decision, or does Early Decision always improve chances? 18.

If it possible to change, I suggest changing it. Rolling admissions is when they send out the acceptance letters as they receive apps, so the earlier you apply, the better. For more info, look on the A2C wiki. I’ve applied to Penn State University through early action but had the option to do rolling admission.

Students who complete their application by November 1 will receive an admissions notification for UT Austin and Canfield BHP by February 1. We highly encourage students to apply to the program by November 1. Applying by the Priority Notification Deadline will not influence a student’s chance of admission. This is not Early Decision or Early ...

If we see the same 28% growth in regular admissions applicants as early action, and the university admits the same number as people as last year (and it should, with a slight increase in order to compensate for yield), you can expect the regular admissions acceptance rate to fall at around 14-15%, and the total acceptance rate for the year to fall at around 20% on the dot.

Blackafropuffs HS Senior •. Rolling admission basically means once your application is submitted, it's going to be reviewed as soon as it's received. Early action just means you apply early and it shows that you're interested and gives you more of an idea about the school. If NJIT has rolling admission then I would suggest applying like that.
