Having an issue with getting Notepad installed on new Windows 21H2 images. I have mounted the WIM file we deploy with SCCM and I can see Notepad.exe in Windows\system32 of the mounted WIM file. but Notepad.exe is missing on all of the machines we have imaged. I have tried to deploy using Store Apps and that says installed/compliant.
Open notepad then right click on the icon on the task bar, you should see a list of recent files. if you pin notepad to the taskbar, you can right click on the icon and see recent files without opening notepad. The notepad files are usually saved in documents folder which can be found at c:\Users\USERNAME\documents ( change USERNAME with your actual username from the backup ) But since a notepad file can be created anywhere by right clicking and clicking new /text file the document will be saved where it was created by you.
