The American Quarter Horse, or Quarter Horse, is an American breed of horse that excels at sprinting short distances. Its name is derived from its ability to outrun other horse breeds in races of 1 ⁄ 4 mi (0.40 km) or less; some have been clocked at speeds up to 44 mph (71 km/h).
Turns 1-2 have an uphill climb to the backstretch, ten feet higher than the pit straight, for spectator visibility. Turns 3-4 feature a ten-foot descent. A 1/8-mile dragstrip and a 1/4-mile infield oval are slated. [4] The track, completed in March 2013, had its first NASCAR–sanctioned race on October 26, 2013, with the K&N Pro Series West. [3]
As one degree is 1 / 360 of a circle, one minute of arc is 1 / 21600 of a circle – such that the polar circumference of the Earth would be exactly 21,600 miles. Gunter used Snellius's circumference to define a nautical mile as 6,080 feet, the length of one minute of arc at 48 degrees latitude. [24]
As defined by the International Astronomical Union (IAU), the light-year is the product of the Julian year [note 1] (365.25 days, as opposed to the 365.2425-day Gregorian year or the 365.24219-day Tropical year that both approximate) and the speed of light (299 792 458 m/s).
The mile run (1,760 yards [1] or exactly 1,609.344 metres) is a middle-distance foot race.. The history of the mile run event began in England, where it was used as a distance for gambling races.
Exact HO scale (half O of 7 mm = 1 foot) 1:87: 3.503 mm: Model railways (HO/h0) Civilian and military vehicles. Often used to describe HO scale. Original nominal 25 mm figure scale; though a 6-foot human in 1:87 is closer to 21 mm. 1:82: 3.717 mm An intermediate scale (HO/OO) intended to apply to both HO and OO scale train sets.

First six summands drawn as portions of a square. The geometric series on the real line. In mathematics, the infinite series 1 / 2 + 1 / 4 + 1 / 8 + 1 / 16 + ··· is an elementary example of a geometric series that converges absolutely.
