On steam this game has currently 94% positive reviews, but the PC version has a "User Score" of 4,6 on metacritic. Is this coming from people, who didn't like the game on console and are still mad after 8 months, because they bought a game for 60$ before knowing what the game is about? Or just people who watched some "funny" review on YT, who then decided to leave a review without having ...
Go on Metacritic, go look at the top positive reviews they're all exactly the same and the users on have 1 review and it's for Death Stranding Yep. Someone exposed this in a video, many 10/10s only rated that one game.
Unless a game has a 10.0 user score on metacritic then their vision is not perfect. And no game will ever get a 10.0. That wasn't the point. Has nothing to do with metacritic, or your vision of perfect. Has to do with people being able to create things the way they want.
Death Stranding was always worth playing and well received, but no one can say if it will be worth it for you which is the case with every other video game.

This game is about delivering goods from one location to another, linking them to a network in the process. The challenge comes in avoiding or tackling the obstacles (natural and unnatural) along the way. Almost every delivery rewards you with an upgrade to make the process easier or give you more tactical options. That's the gameplay hook. After little more than 20 hours I have ladders, ropes ...
I just started playing this game today and so far I'm impressed, both with the quality of this port and the game itself. However, looking at metacritic, there are hundreds of 0 score reviews claiming the game has terrible performance and gameplay. I can't find anything inherently wrong with the game. What's up with that? Did Kojima offend PC gamers in some way? Just curious.
Sony and Kojima also had thousands of user negative reviews of death stranding purged from metacritic. This whole industry is unbelievably corrupt. Are you saying that at least 14 perfect scores from official reviewers, 25 awards won, and over 50 nominations so far shouldn't count because of assumed corruption and previous review bombing attempts?
Somehow not being 100/100 makes it bad? And being a mad baby about the few low scores is churlish. Death Stranding has the issue all major releases reviewed by major outlets suffer from. Most are way too high or most are way too low. All without proper description. You want a good review pay attention to the individual not the outlet.
Of course Death Stranding is a game where you walk, but it's an intellectually lazy categorization since, objectively speaking, there's much more to the game than it's simulation of walking. Terms such as "action" or "adventure", though vague, are more suitable terms since they can be used to describe an overwhelming variety of different things.
