How to find my towing capacity/ In the Fall of 2019 I bought a used 2018 Ram 1500 Crew Cab 5.7L V8 Hemi 4wd truck with the 5'6" bed on it. I did get it from the dealership and it was slightly used, had roughly 3,000 miles on it.
What I am unsure of is what is actually a safe target for towing without ruining my transmission and what I can tow with the stock setup. What, if any upgrades I should think about. (air bags, etc...) I have a 2020 Ram 1500 Classic with the 3.6L V-6. Axle Ratio is 3.55, Per the attached chart it says my max trailer weight is 7400lbs.
Checking to see what I can do to help my 2018 Ram Tradesman to tow better. It has the 3:92 gears, trailer brake control, towing mirrors, air bags, equil. hitch. The camper we are pulling has a weight of 6500lbs. Towing cap. of my truck is 10,300lbs. I am going to change the tires to e rated . Thanks
I have the Stellantis 2023 Ram 2500 & 3500 Heavy Duty Tow Chart, and the 2023 Ram 1500 Classic (DS) Tow Chart. These took a while to find because there are a whole bunch of websites listing various different numbers, but I figured the Stellantis ones were as close as I was going to find to the...

I have a new 2023 Ram 1500 Laramie, Crew Cab, 4x4, 5.7L v8 eTorque, short bed, and the 3.21 gear ratio. This is my first truck ever and have only driven RV's recreationally but hoping to get a travel trailer (likely an Airstream) in the next year.
I have a 2021 1500 Limited 392 gears with a load capacity of 1341 lbs and tow rating of 11,200. I bought the Rockwood Mini Lite 2511S. The hitch weight is 850 lbs. I am over my limit and am looking to upgrade the TV. We took the TT to Florida 2 weeks ago and the truck struggled tremulously going up to Flagstaff and through out New Mexico and Texas.
Car trailers put a lot of weight on the hitch, probably over your payload capacity. If uhaul won't rent the trailer, not much you can do. Their car transport trailers weigh 2200 pounds and adding a 4k car you are at 6200, and they want the tow vehicle to weigh at least 80% of the combined trailer weight and have a hitch rated to at least 5k pounds.
i found the one i wanted 3:21 with the the towing package. whats interesting though, it bothered me that it didn't have the 3:92, but it does have the towing package. to me, if the 3:92 was a necessity, not a nicety, for towing, that it would come standard with the towing package.
I’ve got a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic 4x4 Crew Cab Hemi 5.7 8-speed with 3.21 axle. The tuck has a 4” lift kit from Mopar and 35” tires. I got it new this year and had no plans on towing, but now we are getting a trailer in the next couple of weeks and I’m concerned about the towing capacity of my truck with this setup.
