Seymour Duncan. Seymour Duncan is an American company best known for manufacturing guitar and bass pickups. They also manufacture effects pedals which are designed and assembled in United States. Guitarist and luthier Seymour W. Duncan and Cathy Carter Duncan founded the company in 1976, in Santa Barbara, California.
As demand for his custom pickups grew, he started his own company with Cathy Carter Duncan, Seymour Duncan in 1976. [5] In the 90s, as a demand for vintage guitars began to rise, Duncan sought to replicate the tonal quality of '50s to '60s rock and roll through pre-aging specific pickups.
