730. Nov 3, 2019. #11. In my understanding, the Trophy Copper (which is the Nosler E-tip, renamed and with relief grooves) and the GMX are copper ALLOY bullets, which harden them compared to the pure copper of the Barnes. They don't foul as much, but they also might not open as easily, either.
Lynchburg, TN. Jan 17, 2012. #1. Anybody know what type powder Federal uses in the 308 Winchester 168 gr. Gold Medal Match shells? It measures out to 43.4 grains. It is extruded powder. The grains are cut very short and are .030" diameter. They are dark black and shiny.

What I did was buy Norma loaded ammunition since I understand Nosler brass is actually made by Norma. I found it was more cost effective to buy it, use it for honing my basic marksmanship skills and then use it for reloading. I had used new unfired WW brass, WW Nickel brass, Federal Nickel and unfired Nosler brass.
Holland, MI. Mar 16, 2017. #2. It's the most accurate factory ammo in Dad's 270 Win. We used it last year in WY on antelope with impressive results in the 150gr variety. It worked so well that he has toyed around with the idea of using it on elk this fall. I've used it previously in a different 270 on deer, and it performs very well on those also.
We spoke specifically about ammo that would be effective at longer ranges. I was told to try the Bondstrike ammo, so I called Sports South and got a few boxes to try. This was the first day testing in custom 6.5 Creedmoor. This performance was from a 20" Proof carbon fiber barrel. Average according to LabRadar was 2663.
