Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) is the civil service of Karnataka state in India. [1] The Public Service Commission conducts exams to recruit candidates for the service. These young officers recruited by KPSC take up various administrative posts at the district and state level.

Suraj Govindaraj (born 14 May 1973) is an additional judge of the High Court of Karnataka, [1] and he took the oath on 23 September 2019 and was appointed as Permanent Judge on 1 March 2021. [ 2 ] [ 3 ]
He enrolled as an advocate in 1985. He was appointed as an additional judge of the Bombay High Court on 18 July 2008, and made permanent on 15 July 2011. He was elevated to chief justice of the Karnataka High Court on 15 October 2022. He was elevated as a judge of the Supreme Court of India on 25 January 2024.
