Description: The central portion of the Ross Island Bridge (in Portland, Oregon) from the south-southeast, from near the Springwater Corridor Trail, in May 2019. This was shortly after the completion of a full repainting of the 1926-built bridge, the first since 1965, when it first received this blue color (replacing green, which had replaced black a decade earlier).
Portland has 12 bridges that span the Willamette, while only two road bridges cross the Columbia River, and other notable bridges cross roads, canyons or other bodies of water. Interstate 5 crosses the Willamette via the Marquam Bridge and the Columbia via the Interstate Bridge .
