Urzelina is a civil parish in the municipality of Velas in the Portuguese islands of the Azores. The population in 2011 was 902, [1] in an area of 13.69 km². [2] It is situated near the south coast of the island of São Jorge. It is alternately known as São Mateus, to which the parish was named after its patron saint.

[1] It is about 100 metres (330 ft) [2] off the southeasternmost tip [2] of São Jorge, adjacent the civil parish of Topo in the Calheta municipality. [3] Waters around the islet range from 5 to 22 metres (16 to 72 ft) deep. [2]
