Warrior Nun is an American fantasy drama television series created by Simon Barry based on the comic book character Warrior Nun Areala by Ben Dunn.Developed as a feature film adaptation, the idea was re-imagined as a television series for Netflix when the service had given the production a series order for a first season.
After her mother's death, she grew up at various Catholic orphanages where her martial prowess came to be noted by the nuns who raised her. She was soon inducted into the Warrior Nun order and ultimately brought before Pope Pius XI who, rightly so, saw the world filled with Fascists and Communists that would plunge the world into war .
