Turnbull Thomson Park is a public park located in Invercargill, Southland, South Island, New Zealand. It is within the region of Southland Plains, covered with grass on low flatland with some trees around the large open space. The park is mainly used for sports and recreation purposes.

The first edition was published on 12 November 1862 under the title of Invercargill Times. The three founders were Gerard George Fitzgerald, John T. Downes, and Charles Reynolds. The name changed to The Southland Times in June 1864. [1] Initially, it was published two or three times a week until it became a daily paper in 1875.
Invercargill is the southernmost city in the Commonwealth of Nations. Invercargill is situated on the fertile and alluvial Southland Plains, which is amongst some of New Zealand's most fertile farmland. Southern Invercargill lies on the shore of the New River Estuary, while the northern parts lie on the banks of the Waihopai River.
The suburb is part of the Turnbull Thompson Park statistical area, which covers 1.49 km 2 (0.58 sq mi) [1] and had an estimated population of 1,900 as of June 2024, [2] with a population density of 1,275 people per km 2.
To the rear of the house stands a wharepuni or Māori house known as Te Wharepuni o Anehana, the traditional carving coming from Rotorua. [2] After the deaths of Sir Robert (1942) and his wife (1951), the house and grounds were given to the city of Invercargill. [2] From 1951 the house has been used to display Invercargill's collection of art. [2]
Queens Park is a park in Invercargill, New Zealand, and was part of the original plan when Invercargill was founded in 1856. The park is 200 acres (0.81 km 2) in extent. It is just north of the city centre, bounded by Queens Drive to the east, Kelvin Street to the west, Gala Street to the south and Herbert Street to the north.
