Roseland is a borough in western Essex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census , the borough's population was 6,299, [ 9 ] [ 10 ] an increase of 480 (+8.2%) from the 2010 census count of 5,819, [ 19 ] [ 20 ] which in turn reflected an increase of 521 (+9.8%) from the 5,298 counted in the 2000 census .
Eisenhower Parkway is a road in Essex County, New Jersey, located in the municipalities of Roseland and Livingston. Eisenhower Parkway begins at South Orange Avenue ( County Route 510 ) in Livingston near the Livingston Mall and heads north, following County Route 609 (CR 609) to Interstate 280 (I-280) in Roseland.
Originally, the site was part of a 55 acres (22 ha) stone quarry owned by the Kidde company called Roseland Quarry. [2] In 1968, there was a discovery of dinosaur tracks on the quarry. With the news, a 14-year-old, Paul E. Olsen who lived in Livingston, and his friend Tony Lessa started visiting the quarry to study them. [3]
The Williams-Harrison House was built around 1824 by Amos Williams, Jr. after purchasing 98 acres from the estate of Adonijah Edison. The property was later reduced to a seven-acre family farm with livestock, chicken coops, fruit trees, a vegetable garden and outhouses used for the practice of tanning and shoemaking.
