"Renee" is a song by American rap group Lost Boyz from their first studio album Legal Drug Money and the Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood soundtrack. [citation needed] It samples the Janet Jackson song "Funny How Time Flies (When You're Having Fun)".
They contributed a single to the Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood soundtrack, titled "Renee". Legal Drug Money is the debut studio album by American hip hop group the Lost Boyz.It was released on June 4, 1996, via Universal Records.The recording sessions took place at Greene St. Recording, Quad Recording Studios and D&D Studios in New York.
It was released on January 9, 1996 via Island Records, and consisted of hip hop and R&B music. The album peaked at number 18 on the Billboard 200 , number 3 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums , and was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on March 14, 1996 for selling 500,000 copies in the United States.
"Music Makes Me High" is the fourth single released from the Lost Boyz' debut album, Legal Drug Money. The original version of the song was produced by Mr. Sex and Charles Suitt, the song's official remix was produced by L.T. Hutton and featured Tha Dogg Pound and a then unknown Canibus in his first official appearance.
Mr. Cheeks, who was mentored by his uncle Gil Scott-Heron, along with bandmates Freaky Tah (1971–1999), Spigg Nice and Pretty Lou made up Lost Boyz.The Lost Boyz practiced a sincere, literate, non-sensational style of New York hip-hop and produced a number of singles including; "Lifestyles of the Rich and Shameless" (1994), "Jeeps, Lex Coups, Bimaz & Benz" (1995) and "Renee" (1996).
