ShoppingTown Mall is an abandoned regional shopping mall in Dewitt, New York.First opened as an open-air shopping center in 1954, it was enclosed in 1973 and remained a major shopping center before no longer being part of Dewitt in March 2020 to make way for a new $400 million development, which will be named District East.

In 1939, WPA Guide to New York City said Schrafft's had 38 locations in the metropolitan area, serving American home food. [3] At its peak there were about 50 units in greater New York. In the late 1960s the Schrafft's candy company was sold to Helme Products while Pet, Inc. bought the restaurants in 1967 for US$14 million. [4]

DeWitt was part of the Central New York Military Tract.The first settlers arrived around 1789. The original Erie Canal progressed through the town in 1825. DeWitt was formed in 1835 from the Town of Manlius and was named in honor of Moses DeWitt, [5] a major in the militia, a county judge, and one of the first settlers of the county.
Pete Wells published a positive review of the restaurant in The New York Times in 2019, awarding it two out of four possible stars. [3] Paul de Revere reviewed The Four Horsemen for Pitchfork when the restaurant opened in 2015, [4] and in his review Wells joked that The Four Horsemen "must be the first natural-wine bar" to receive a review from the music publication.
