The 1975 Formula One season was the 29th season of FIA Formula One motor racing. It featured the 1975 World Championship of F1 Drivers [ 1 ] and the 1975 International Cup for F1 Manufacturers [ 2 ] which were contested concurrently from 12 January to 5 October over fourteen races.

Manuel Orantes defeated defending champion Jimmy Connors in the final, 6–4, 6–3, 6–3 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 1975 US Open. It was his first (and only) major singles title. Orantes saved five match points en route to the title , against Guillermo Vilas in the semifinals.

Rosemary Casals and Billie Jean King were the defending champions but lost in the final 7–5, 2–6, 7–6 against Margaret Court and Virginia Wade. This was Court's 64th and final grand slam title across singles, doubles and mixed doubles, a record she holds to this day.
