Hawkins was born in St. Charles, Missouri, 30 miles west of St. Louis. Both of his parents were teachers. His father was a P.E. instructor and his mother taught third grade. He has one brother, Todd Hawkins, who eventually became his first manager. His childhood was consumed with sports, but he also loved making his family and friends laugh.
"Hey There Delilah" is a song by American pop rock band Plain White T's, for whom it remains their signature song. It was released on May 9, 2006, as an EP from their third studio album, All That We Needed (2005).
Christian comedian Tim Hawkins wrote a parody of the Plain White-T's song "Hey There, Delilah" based on the story of Samson and Delilah. Bruce Springsteen wrote a song called " Fire " which makes reference to Samson and Delilah.

In 2006 the band signed to Hollywood Records and recorded Every Second Counts, featuring a new version of "Hey There Delilah" with a string section. Every Second Counts was released in September 2006.
Between the Lines is a musical based on the novel of the same name, written by Jodi Picoult, with music and lyrics by Elyssa Samsel and Kate Anderson, and a book by Timothy Allen McDonald. The musical follows 17-year-old Delilah as she struggles to balance fitting in at her new school and a romance with a prince who is another world away.
The lyrics were influenced by a wide variety of sources. Hawkins, the band's primary lyricist, stated that much of the album's lyrics were inspired by what the band had been through in the years since their prior album, with him describing it as "not a hypothetical record. It's a very real, experientially-influenced record". [12]

All That We Needed missed the Billboard 200 chart, but still managed to appear on the US Heatseekers Albums chart. [8] The album peaked at number 26 on the chart. [8] On July 31, 2017, the album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for combined sales and album-equivalent units of over 500,000 units in the United States.
